For our final project, we recreated the 2011 hit mobile app Jetpack Joyride. This game we made falls under the category of being an “Endless Runner” (examples such as Subway Surfer or Temple Run). This category is one that the only goal the user is trying to accomplish is to beat is their own high score. While dodging obstacles on a map that speeds up the further you get, running into one obstacle will end the game. Included in the game are six different “levels” where each time you move up a level, the background and music change and the speed picks up a little. 


To run our game through Netbeans, the user needs to have all of the images we have in our Images folder, and the six .jar files we obtained from Slick2D (with using LightWeight Java Game Library version 2.9.3) which are jinput.jar, lwjgl.jar, lwjgl_util.jar, slick.jar, jogg-0.0.7.jar, and jorbis-0.0.15.jar. With all of those files, the game is run from the Main.java file which is located in the project folder under src. 




To run the .jar file from command line:


$ java -jar dist/JetpackJoyride.java
